Step 1 — Don't Skip the Tutorial

We know, we know. But GTA VI's mechanics are different enough from GTA V that the tutorial actually teaches you important stuff — new cover system, driving physics, how the wanted system works. 20 minutes now saves you 2 hours of confusion later.

First 10 Things To Do

1

Complete the opening missions

Unlock the full map ASAP. The first few missions gate off large portions of Vice City.

2

Buy a safehouse early

You need a place to save, store cars, and change outfits. Don't sleep on this.

3

Learn the wanted zone system

GTA VI uses zones instead of stars. Understanding this will save your life constantly.

4

Explore on foot first

Vice City is dense. Walk around before you start driving everywhere — you'll find secrets, side jobs, and hidden cash.

5

Stack money before going online

Finish the story first. Online will be there. Campaign money carries over in some forms.

6

Try both protagonists' special abilities

Lucia and Jason have different abilities. Figure out which one suits your playstyle early.

7

Do side missions early

Side missions unlock gear, vehicles, and contacts you'll want for main missions later.

8

Customise your first car

Find a good early car, take it to a mod shop. You'll use it for 10+ hours — make it yours.

9

Don't ignore the phone

Contacts, missions, tips — your in-game phone is constantly giving you info. Check it.

10

Enjoy it, don't rush

GTA VI is huge. You don't need to 100% it in week one. Take it in fr fr.

Bottom line 💀

GTA VI rewards exploration and patience. Don't just rush main missions. The world is the game. We are not okay with how much content is in this thing ngl.
